How long is the tour?
Our Muir Woods shuttle tour is approximately 4 hours total, including round-trip transportation and about 1.5-2 hours to explore the trails at Muir Woods.

Our friendly drivers provide commentary during the scenic drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. At Muir Woods, you’re free to explore at your own pace using the well-marked trail system.
What to Expect
What should I wear?
Muir Woods stays cool year-round (50-60°F typically), even when San Francisco is warm. Bring layers and comfortable walking shoes. The trails can be damp, so waterproof footwear is recommended during rainy season.
Is the park wheelchair accessible?
Yes! The main Muir Woods trail (Boardwalk Loop) is paved and wheelchair accessible. This 0.5-mile loop takes you through beautiful old-growth redwood groves.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on trails within Muir Woods National Monument. Service animals are permitted. We cannot accommodate pets on our shuttle.
Is food available at Muir Woods?
The Muir Woods Trading Company offers a small café with snacks, coffee, and light meals. However, eating is only permitted in designated areas outside the forest.
Shuttle vs. Driving
Why take the shuttle instead of driving?
Taking our shuttle offers several advantages: no stress about limited parking, no need for parking reservations, scenic narrated drive, designated driver so everyone can enjoy the views, and often cheaper than parking fees plus gas plus bridge tolls.
How much does parking at Muir Woods cost?
Muir Woods parking reservations cost $9 per vehicle plus the $15 per adult entrance fee. Add Golden Gate Bridge toll ($9) and gas, and driving costs add up quickly. Our shuttle includes everything.
Sausalito Add-On
Can I visit Sausalito on the same trip?
Yes! Our popular Muir Woods & Sausalito combo tour includes time in the charming waterfront town of Sausalito, known for its houseboats, art galleries, and stunning views of San Francisco.
How much time do we spend in Sausalito?
Our combo tour includes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in Sausalito, enough time to stroll the waterfront, grab lunch, or browse the shops.
